Going Global: the value of foreign languages in business communication

The purpose of this research is to gather information on the value of using foreign languages for managers and employees of the Abruzzo Region in their business settings.

In particular, we want to understand the importance foreign languages have in their business communication (internal and external), figuring out what is the current level of competency, what Abruzzo organizations do to improve it, what they do expect from applicants, schools and institutions regarding this matter and, ultimately, try to understand whether multilingualism does better international business than English-only or not.

Firms and companies from the hospitality field, retail trading firms, e commerce-only retailers and industrial companies working with international clients will be included in our sample.

It is a simple “Google form” that will collect all of the responses and will automatically issue statistics and charts useful for the data analysis and interpretation.
